Fearless Fitness Coach, Lifestyle Designer, Adventure Capitalist
Founder and Creator of the 90-Day Fearless Fitness Challenge, Peter Scott IV coaches busy entrepreneurs, who struggle at staying fit and healthy, to commit to daily actions and habits that accelerate the achievement of their fitness goals so that they have the energy, stamina, and clarity of thought to grow their purpose-driven businesses.
My personal practice is…….
The Fearless 4 – A series of rituals that I commit to EVERY SINGLE DAY that give me the energy, focus, and certainty I need to perform at my highest potential. Several of my rituals include:
Daily green smoothie
Daily exercise (any form as long as I sweat)
Daily study (reading a book or listening to audio on a topic of interest)
How did you discover your practice?
I discovered my practice by studying the habits of my mentors. I noticed each of them had daily rituals that were the foundation of their success. It wasn’t that they simply set goals. A lot of people set goals that they fail to accomplish. The difference was their commitment to certain daily habits that became the key to accomplishing their goals. The Fearless 4 habits listed above are the most powerful and consistent I’ve found among top performers.
Why do you practice?
I practice so that I start my day with intention versus waking up and reacting to the demands of my day (email, meetings, etc.) When I dedicate the first one to two hours of my day to the Fearless 4, I am in control. I am in charge of how my day begins which sets me up for success.
How frequently and for how long do you practice?
I commit to the Fearless 4 EVERY SINGLE DAY. These daily habits become non-negotiable, like brushing your teeth. I hold myself and my clients accountable by tracking and measuring these habits each day.
What’s something that gets in the way of your practice and how to you move through it?
There are always daily distractions and obligations that have the potential to get in the way of my practice. They way I move through these potential pitfalls is by front-loading my day with the Fearless 4 habits. In other words, I commit to accomplishing my practice before doing anything else in my day. This gives me to energy, stamina, and focus to handle anything that comes my way throughout the day.
What supports you in staying committed to your practice?
My commitment to integrity in support of my clients. You see, I wouldn’t be congruent if I coached my clients on creating and committing to daily habits, if I wasn’t already doing it myself. There definitely are days when I feel tired and lazy just like anyone else. But my purpose for committing to these habits go far beyond my own personal benefits. I want to live with integrity, and as someone who coaches people to BE FEARLESSLY FIT, I must lead by example.
What role does your practice play in your work?
Committing to my daily Fearless 4 habits gives me the energy, stamina, and clarity of thought I need to create more value in the marketplace, which makes me more money and contributes to the growth of my business. My daily meditation keeps me calm, grounded, and centered in the middle of the chaos that every entrepreneur experiences around them.
Describe someone you know whose practice inspires you.
Every activity, every crises, every opportunity competes for your limited time and your limited energy. I say this because many people believe they don’t have the time to workout each day or study each day. So a practice that inspires me to do both of these each day comes from my mentor, Jon Butcher, who is the Founder of Lifebook. He has combined his fitness and learning habits by listening to audio books or personal development programs while he’s working out. This is a practice I’ve adopted that has accelerated my learning tremendously.
A practice I’d like to explore is…. – A practice I would like to explore is surfing. This is something I know Jeff Klein has committed to in his life. Having recently moved to Southern California, I have the perfect opportunity to explore surfing in pursuit of the physical, mental, and spiritual benefits I’ve heard about.
Anything else you’d like to share about practice.
You’ve probably heard what gets tracked grows and what gets tracked and measured grows exponentially. Holding yourself accountable to your practice by tracking and measuring each day will keep you committed and will produce the ultimate results you’re pursuing.
